The post-production of the film, typically, didn't take long; it couldn't, because on July 12, about ten days after the shooting wrapped. Laurel and Hardy went on vacation. They had been working with very little pause for more than five years.

A Busman’s Holiday

At the start of 1932, Stan decided to visit his father and stepmother in England during July, while Babe planned to see Canada. Then, Babe began to realize that the golf courses in Scotland and England were among the world's finest. He talked it over with Stan, and the comedians decided to take a vacation to the British Isles together — or what they thought would be a vacation.
